Pupil Events

A range of events are held over the course of the year which appeal to different groups of student, some have been run for a number of years, some are new. As well as our regular quizzes and competitions, we run a Careers Convention for all 600 of our Year 5 pupils every year.

In addition to the events described below, previous years have also seen Orchestra Days, Cookery afternoons, Art Masterclasses, Maths Quizzes and Singing events. Some of these will take place again depending on the availability of staff and space in the already busy calendars of our schools.

Chess Competition

A fiercely competitive Round Robin Event for KS2 pupils in Chess Clubs across the CB23 schools.

Humanities Quiz

A brand new event in 2024 and extremely popular. Our biggest ever inter school event with 9 teams of Year 5 and 6 pupils. In 2025 there will be a Trophy at stake!

Public Speaking Competition

One of two events held in conjunction with a Cambridge College. Peterhouse are our hosts and their school liaison team provide both advice and judges for this exciting event. A not to be missed date on the CB23 calendar.

Spelling Bee

Clare College and Barnabas Oley CE Primary have links going back to their shared founder, so it is fitting that we hold our annual Spelling Bee in Clare College.
