In 2017 the Careers Convention moved to The Great Barn, Manor Farm in Bourn.
Over the course of the day 450 Year 5 pupils from each of the 13 primary schools came along to meet and quiz the different exhibitors.
Each of the 20 exhibitors had brought along a range of information, equipment and resources for the pupils to look at. We are really grateful to the wonderful volunteers from each of the organisations for putting so much effort into making this event as interactive as possible for the pupils. The range of careers/industries was very broad.
Mechanical Engineering - Computer Science - Plumbing - Tailoring - Pharmaceuticals - Midwifery - Zoology - Marketing - Optometry - Computer Games - Construction - Astromony - Civil Engineering - Medical Imagery - Geology
Each of the pupils had a booklet to fill in about the different stands they visited, to help them remember everything they had heard and also share what they had learnt with their families.
We need to say a big thank you Toppesfield Ltd who sponsored the event and Manor Farm for all their help and support in organising the day.
The following organisations and individuals had stands on the day:
ARM - Sarah the Plumber - Medimmune - University Museum of Zoology - Arts Marketing Association - Cambridge Regional College - University of Cambridge - A14 Integrated Delivery Team - Citrix - Institute of Astronomy - NHS - Mott Macdonald - Toppesfield Ltd
