The Year 5 Careers Convention was first held in 2015 as a relatively small event, from 2017 to 2019 it was held at the Great Barn, Manor Farm in Bourn.  The goal of the day is to introduce the children to a range of careers options and help them to make connections between learning and careers while they are still in primary school. We hope to inspire them to value learning and to open their minds to new possibilities.  During the pandemic we moved online and were fortunate that many of our regular exhibitors took part in Zoom calls with multiple classes of Year 5 pupils.  The pupils were treated to talks about different jobs and in some cases virtual tours.

During the conventions, whether online or in person our pupils will have the opportunity to interview exhibitors and discover:

‘What school subjects have been useful to you in your career?’

‘What training/education did you need for your career?’

‘Why did you choose this career?’

In 2023 we are back at Manor Farm, for one year only both Year 5 and Year 6 pupils will be attending as our current Year 6 pupils missed out last academic year.  Can you inspire young minds?  contact us to find out more and book your place at the Network CB23 Careers Convention on 4th October 2023
